Feeling Overwhelmed...

by His goodness, mercy and grace. As I was making lunch for the kiddos today I put the IPOD on the docking station so that I could listen to our church service from yesterday. Corey & I both worked in children's ministry yesterday so we picked up our copy of the service cd on our way out after church yesterday and then Corey downloaded it to our IPOD last night. The first song the worship team did was Phil Wickham's "True Love" song. Tears were streaming down my face as I stood there, completely overwhelmed at the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. I first heard this song at the Joyce Meyer conference last fall and forgot how much I loved it! I wanted to share it with all of you. Sorry I forgot how to post the youtube video on my blog (and don't have time to figure it out right now) so you'll have to settle for the link.

The lyrics are absolutely beautiful:

Come close listen to the story
About a love more faithful than the morning
The Father gave His only Son just to save us

The earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt the Fathers Broken Heart
Tears were filling Heaven's Eyes
The day that True Love died, the day that True Love died
When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Search your heart you know you can't deny it
Come on, lose your life just so you can find it
The Father gave His only Son just to save us

The Earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt The Fathers broken heart
Tears were filling Heaven's Eyes
The day that True Love died, the day that True Love died
When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Now, Jesus is alive

Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Oh, He is alive
He rose again

When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Come close listen to the story

We sang that song at church Saturday evening as well as several times in the weeks leading up to Easter. It is truly powerful isn't it? It's hard to put into words what I feel when I read a post like this with the conviction and emotion that is stirred within you over God's incomprehensible love towards us! As a parent, our most important job is to lead our children to Jesus! When I was at your house in February, sitting up on the guest bed and you and Aly were singing from Hillsong's CD, it touched me deeply. 3 generations of women who love the Lord! THAT is what really matters in this life!
Love, Mom
