March for Babies and other stuff

So last week was crazy busy with the doctor appointments, meetings and March for Babies event. The event was Saturday and went really great although it seems as though it's taking me some extra time to recover.

Part of this tiredness is probably coming from the fact that I've had quit my morning cup of Joe! The heartburn I've had lately has been awful and coffee does not help! I'm sailing through week 33 with flying colors and finally feel as though I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I've actually been able to joke (instead of cry) about "being the size of a small hippo" and all these other fun pregnancy things. I am really wanting to start getting things ready for the baby...hopefully we will have time within the next few weeks to start rearranging furniture, cleaning the baby gear, get the bed ready, etc. I guess nesting is starting to kick in although I don't have a big desire to clean the house...yet.

Here are a few pics from the March this past weekend. The girls are so adorable at these events...I'm sure Aly will grow up and work in non-profit like her Mamma. She enjoys handing out literature, helping people get to where they need to go, handing out stickers to the kids, etc. I can tell she's proud of what I do now if I could just get her to quit calling it the HEARTWALK that would be good!

BIG

I finally got to see my baby boy today! He is measuring quite nicely...I think a little big but we will see what my doc has to say tomorrow. His head is measuring at about the 98th percentile...ouch, but for any of you who know my kids you know that 98% doesn't scare me, it's pretty much the norm for the Hively kids. Just for the record I am 32 weeks 1 day today and his head was measuring 36 weeks 2 or 3 days (don't remember which). Overall I measured 33 weeks 2 days and he is in the 75th percentile. The tech said they don't get too concerned unless you are in the 90th percentile. So this might mean another ultrasound to check his size in a few weeks. He weighed 4lbs 12 ounces.

Corey got to see his "junk" which he proudly stated was in the "99th percentile", nice huh. Do they make Pampers with "extra large crotch" (family joke)? And finally, the little (or should I say big) guy is breech. He's got his head on the one side of my ribs and his feet kicking me on the other side of the ribs and he's butt first. It's time to start praying for the coveted vertex position! Here are a few pics of the other man in my life. He was such a flirt, he kept raising and lowering his eyebrows and opening and closing his eyes. His hand is in front of one of his eyes in these pics. Enjoy!

Beautiful Day

It's gorgeous outside and we had a picnic lunch with Corey today. This almost makes up for the fact that my ultrasound that was scheduled for tomorrow has been rescheduled for Monday. What is it with these people? Don't they know that this mommy wants to see her baby? Some stupid crap about having a big gap in between ultrasounds...sounds to me like the ultrasound lady just wants to check out early tomorrow since it's going to be nice. If you remember correctly my BIG ultrasound was rescheduled because the ultrasound lady got her tractor stuck and had to get it unstuck before her husband came home...maybe she wants to ride her tractor tomorrow, who knows.

Feeling Overwhelmed...

by His goodness, mercy and grace. As I was making lunch for the kiddos today I put the IPOD on the docking station so that I could listen to our church service from yesterday. Corey & I both worked in children's ministry yesterday so we picked up our copy of the service cd on our way out after church yesterday and then Corey downloaded it to our IPOD last night. The first song the worship team did was Phil Wickham's "True Love" song. Tears were streaming down my face as I stood there, completely overwhelmed at the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. I first heard this song at the Joyce Meyer conference last fall and forgot how much I loved it! I wanted to share it with all of you. Sorry I forgot how to post the youtube video on my blog (and don't have time to figure it out right now) so you'll have to settle for the link.

The lyrics are absolutely beautiful:

Come close listen to the story
About a love more faithful than the morning
The Father gave His only Son just to save us

The earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt the Fathers Broken Heart
Tears were filling Heaven's Eyes
The day that True Love died, the day that True Love died
When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Search your heart you know you can't deny it
Come on, lose your life just so you can find it
The Father gave His only Son just to save us

The Earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt The Fathers broken heart
Tears were filling Heaven's Eyes
The day that True Love died, the day that True Love died
When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Now, Jesus is alive

Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Oh, He is alive
He rose again

When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Come close listen to the story

Easter Thoughts

I just realized as I was checking my family's blogs that we should be on the road right now on our way to Texas for Easter. Even though we have lots planned this weekend I'm bummed we are not going to be there. Although I'm not bummed that now I don't have to stop every hour to get out and walk around for the 11 hour car trip (which would probably be more like 15 hours after all that stopping). Going for Thanksgiving and being able to take Joel so that everybody can enjoy him will be so much more fun!

I don't have much today, just focusing on getting to June. I've been busy with March of Dimes. The March for Babies is in two weekends and I'm helping out with one in IL next weekend too so I've been putting in quite a few extra hours for them the last few weeks. We have a pretty busy weekend with all of the Easter festivities that are planned. One of my main focuses this weekend will be to sit back and truly respect, reverence and honor the reason we are celebrating. It's so easy to get caught up in the hoopla of the bunnies, egg hunts, family gatherings, etc that you have to on purpose stop to honor the one who saved us all. Happy Easter to all!

Unexpected Surprise

Today as I was sitting at the table drinking coffee Corey spontaneously decided to take the day off. This NEVER happens. He always teases us and says "I should take the day off" but he never does unless it's been planned well in advance.

We got a new chandelier last night so he was chomping at the bit to put it up. He started on that this morning, put down some fresh mulch and then it was off to my doctor appointment. The doctor appointment went well, we are right on track and getting closer every day. I will now go for appointments every two weeks and at my next appointment we get to have another ultrasound (hopefully Corey will be able to make it this time, then he can check out his son's "junk" without having to rely on pictures, apparently the seeing the "junk" is really important to guys)! I am really excited, since I have been treated like a regular patient this time around I wasn't sure if we were going to get to peek at the baby anymore before the big day arrives.

My doctor even congratulated me on my weight gain (in front of my husband, this is big for us). It was nice to get the congratulatory pat from the doc telling me I was doing a good job of keeping my weight in check. I ended up getting my Rhogam shot today. That's all the girls have been talking about, the shot in my butt and if I was going to get a BIG "bam-baid" on my butt. No, not a BIG one just a little "bam-baid". The doc said he would most certainly let me go at 39 weeks if I don't go earlier.

After seeing the doc we headed over to Cracker Barrel. Mmm...I've been asking to go there for a few weeks. We then took the girls to see Monsters vs. Aliens. I think Corey enjoyed the movie more than them! Since it's supposed to be so nice tomorrow we are headed to the zoo. Should be fun!

Do you have a baby in your belly?

The girls were goofing around this morning and the next thing I knew they had babies in their bellies too. Stay tuned for more pictures, in a couple of months they will be breastfeeding these babies!
