Opening Day & Zoo Trip
Couldn't resist getting a pic of Joel is his "Opening Day" gear. Opening Day is like a national holiday in St. Louis, this is our second year being back in the "Lou" for Opening Day. I guess I was too preggo last year to notice or care what a big deal it is.
Daddy took the day off on Friday and we took our first trip of the season to the zoo. The stingrays won't be there til this weekend so that was a bummer but we spent a few hours there and had a great time.
Side story, Aly is getting her hair trimmed this Tuesday and in Sunday School we've been talking about the scripture that talks about God knowing the number of hairs on your head. Aly's comment was "Now God's going to have to start all over again...counting my hairs....since I'm getting it cut". Isn't that sweet? Much better than our previous "baby" conversation!

How Babies Are Made
I took the kids to Arby's for lunch yesterday and it was so nice we decided to eat outside. As we are eating my conversation with Aly goes like this:
Aly: "Mom, how does God actually make the babies".
Me: "Um, what do you mean? He puts them in the mommies tummy to grow".
Aly: "No, I mean how does he actually make them"?
Me: "Well, when you get married you love your husband so much, you kiss and hug alot and then God puts the baby in the Mom's tummy to grow".
Aly: "Oh...Who farted"?
Ashley: "It was me"!
So I'm wiping sweat from my brow...glad that line worked one more time, I think I'm going to have to invest in these books I was looking at at Family Christian Bookstore over the weekend...it breaks all of this info done by your child's age category. Ugh...I'm so not ready for this. They are cool with girl parts, boy parts, they even know about "blood" aka period but this whole "how is the baby made"...I'm not ready for!

Hard Working Volunteers
My best volunteers are my family! My little ones are hard workers. This morning when I was taking Aly to school her and Ashley were talking about going to "the Zoo" aka Mizzou for college, about their own apartments, their husbands, etc. Aly was talking about when her husband would be at work and she would be home taking care of the kids. I asked her if she was going to work or stay home with her kids. She said "Well, I will go to work but I am not going to go everyday. I'll just work at the March of Dimes like you". Today they helped me put Champ Packs together for some of the NICU familes.
