Jenn, it is quite remarkable how much Aly looks like you when you were little!! It is uncanny! I enjoy keeping up with your family on your blog. I check it every morning (now there is some pressure to keep it updated!!). I also wanted to ask how much you paid for your 1/2 cow... I used to do that years ago and was wondering what the costs were like now... Love, Aunt Pam
Aunt Pam, Yes, Aly certainly is a mini-me. Our Opi likes to call her junior. I know for my parents it's like watching me as a little girl all over again. Glad you are enjoying my blog, it's a great way to keep up with everyone since we are scattered all over the midwest!
We actually split a 1/2 cow with another family b/c 1/4 lasts us about a year. This time around our cow was a little bigger than last time. Our 1/4 was 220 lbs. I paid $341 for the beef and then $100 for processing so it averaged out to about $2.00 per pound. The $2 per pound was for hamburger, roasts, filets, strips, ribeye and sirloin - they are all great cuts. Let me know if you are ever interested. Our friends' dad raises the cattle on his farm in St. Joe, I like knowing where my beef has come from! Love, Jenn
I am the "Haute Couture Wife" to Corey, we've been married since 1998 and were high school sweethearts. I am the "Haute Couture Mommy" to my 3 lovely kiddos; Aly, Ashley and Joel and of course our little "fur baby" Fenway. Our family's mission in life can be summed up in one bible verse: "But seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" Matthew 6:33.
